BURGER King has done a last minute revision to shore up its frontline.

Before the clock struck 12 noon yesterday, Burger King and Barako Bull management agreed to switch teams bruising center Carlo Sharma and hardworking rookie forward Chad Alonzo and beat the trade deadline imposed by the Philippine Basketball Association.

The move is definitely beneficial to the Whopper, who will have an additional size presence on the inclusion of Sharma on their fold.

Burger King coach Yeng Guiao, who has coached Sharma with the Red Bull Barakos for the past few years, welcomed the development, saying his inclusion will be a big help for their campaign.

“He will definitely be a big help for us,” said Guiao. “He won’t have problem adjusting with the system because he played with me before. We have become bigger now and become tougher inside.”

Guiao said Sharma attended the team’s practice yesterday and was impressed on how his long-time ward played with his new teammates.

“He had a nice practice with us, although I am having second thoughts on using him tomorrow (Sunday). I would most likely field him in Wednesday as I don’t want to disrupt the game plan we already have,” added Guiao.

For Burger King team manager and incoming PBA chairman Lito Alvarez, the move of having Sharma on board is a preparation for the team’s next year campaign.

“We don’t feel much about the lack of size we’re having because Shawn Daniels is still here,” said Alvarez. “But we certainly need him more in the All-Filipino.”
